Lua (lua.org) is a simple scripting language which can be easily integrated in other software. Therefore, why not bind BRL-CAD to it and create and modify geometries with Lua scripts? This task is about the creation of new functions in Lua. You should have prepared your development environment for doing this before. There is an own task for it.

In "BRL-CAD Lua binding 1a" there where two function to select and unselect elements implemented. Write a program "test1" located in tests/embeddedLua which calls the new methods and run it. Fix bugs in the new methods implementation if there are ones.

When you are done, please upload a patch file which can be applied to the rt^3 branch of the BRL-CAD repository.
