Some of the sample platform's website libraries which we are using are somewhat outdated. We should investigate if we can upgrade them without breaking anything (preferably).

This task is to upgrade JQuery (currently 2.2.2, 3.2.1 is the latest release), and open a Pull Request with the modified files. Please carefully check if any incompatibilities were introduced between the currently used version and the newly installed one. If this is teh case, please also fix them.
