XWiki
Setup development environment
If it's your first task it's highly recommended to start with Become a community member.
Objective:
The objective is to setup everything you need to start contributing code to XWiki.
Task:
- Install Virtual Box on your machine
- Download the Ubuntu+Eclipse VM archive (see documentation for more details)
- Extract it (if you don't have any software supporting 7zip format you can get it on http://www.7-zip.org/download.html)
- Create a new VM in VirtualBox and use the vdi file you exported as storage
- Start the VM
- Open a terminal (click Terminal icon on the left)
- Write your name
- Take a screenshot of the whole screen
If you can't make Virtual Box work for some reason there is also an .ova file that can be used with other softwares (like VMWare).
Expected Outcome:
The student must provide the screenshot indicated in the previous section.
