Git: Join FOSSASIA team, learn about collaboration on GitHub and start communicating in the community
Objective:
To learn how to collaborate with team via GitHub, join the FOSSASIA GCI Students Team and start communicating in the community.
Requirements:
A) Github Usage: Show that you are able to use the Git features and explain your activities in two paragraphs with at least 300 words.
- Create a github account
- Create a repository
- Make an initial commit adding information to a Readme.md file (using the command line or the GitHub web interface)
- Fork at least five repositories from FOSSASIA
- Star repositories on the FOSSASIA GitHub that you like
B) Join the FOSSASIA students GitHub team. Add your information into the form that we set up for this here.
- Please ensure there is a photo on your profile.
- Make your participation public: Go to https://github.com/orgs/fossasia/people and switch private to public.
C) Follow FOSSASIA on Twitter and YouTube and tweet about your first task at FOSSASIA, e.g. "Just did my first task with #FOSSASIA #GCI. Fun learning about #OpenSource http://fossasia.org @fossasia @hpdang"
Expected Outcome:
- Link to your Github profile and repository
- Joined the student team publicly, and have a photo on your profile
- Followed FOSSASIA on Twitter and YouTube and tweeted about participation
- You starred repositories that you are interested in
- You forked five repositories
