Overview

publiclab.org has a lot of activities going round the clock in form of reasearch notes, wikis and Q & As. Each of them have view counts associated with it. The task is to calculate view counts for each page.

Objective

Presently view counts are calculated by simple page refreshes which is a little wobbly. So page views are non-unique. We need to create view counts that are unique with respect to a specific IP or user. One way to do this is by using the impressionist ruby gem.

Requirements

• Knowledge of git and github
• Some knowledge of Ruby
• Some knowledge of Rails framework will be great

Expected Outcome

• Create a Pull request incorporating this feature
• A research note explaining the new feature would be great
• Writing a functional test or two would be just awesome!
