Detect and fix non-internationalized strings

Terasology is currently translated into 14 languages, with 3 more translations (Arabic, Galician and Turkish) being a work progress! All interface strings that are shown to the user should be processed through a translation system and assigned a specific value based on the game's current language. However, some strings don't use the system yet and are hardcoded to contain English values - your task is to fix that.

Definition of 'Done'

  • A pull request is submitted to Terasology's engine repository that makes 5 or more previously hardcoded strings internationalizable, processing them through a translation system and adding their values to language files.
    • You can also translate the strings to languages you know, though this is entirely optional.

Where to start?

  • Running the game with a non-English language that has a 100% translation rate (as per Weblate) and going through different interface screens is a good first step. A full list of Terasology's interface screens to verify can be found here.
  • The Translation Guide's Manual Translation section contains useful information on adding new i18n strings.
