Blog: A short post about entering the world of open source and what it means to you

1) Objective

Create a blog and write a blog post on what open source means to you. You can use any of the free blogger tools available like wordpress, blogger or set up your own blog on github pages. The student should be able to create a new blog and write a well formatted and grammatically correct article on the given topic What open source means to you?

2) Requirements

  • Write a new blog article
  • Add different sections and include links to interesting articles or projects
  • Add a relevant image of you or another image to the article (e.g. you in front of a PC with Open Source software application running or with a mobile phone, that has an Open Source OS)
  • Add a link to FOSSASIA - http://fossasia.org
  • Announce the artilce on twitter, FB or another network

3) Expected outcome:

  • blog article
  • links to other relevant sites for the article
  • relevant image in article
  • link and mentioning of FOSSASIA
  • Blog post added in the section of the GCI student page at http://gci15.fossasia.org
  • Post a message about yout task at FOSSASIA Google Code-In on Twitter (Weibo or another service) e.g. "Wrote an article about "What means #OpenSource to you" at #FOSSASIA #GCI today. Check out http://link-to-your-blog-article @fossasia @hpdang"
